Storage space is an inevitable part of a house. Raumplus has come up with a modish storage unit, which comes coated with a lot of flexibility. It has been crafted in a very neat manner and has a slick facade. Christened as the Mobile Furniture System, the closet will blend perfectly with any modern day setup.

The McLaren MP4-12C is a pretty decent supercar on its own. But for folks not entirely satisfied with the 592 horsepower it outputs, American tuners Hennessey Performance have created the Hennessey McLaren MP4-12C HPE800 Twin Turbo, which is basically the good old McLaren MP4-12C on steroids. With a brand new aerodynamic kit adding to the already stunning good looks of the MP4-12C, the mod also gets a fairly dynamic powertrain tweak which ups its output to a mind-boggling 800 horsepower.

The concept

Public sanitation took a huge leap into modernity when urinals with an upright flushing apparatus in 1866 were first patented by Andrew Rankin immediately following the Civil War in the United States. The introduction of an easy to interact with and quicker-to-use specialized toilets made especially for use by men meant that gents no longer had to resort to go through the rigors of having to take off all their elaborate underwear to be able to use the toilet or use a wall or a tree to relieve themselves in case of an emergency. The urinal, being relatively cheaper to install than toilets, also allowed public sanitation agencies to set up more toilets. And though the design of the urinal itself has not changed much since they were first made (barring a few artistic endeavors), the flushing mechanism used in public urinals has undergone several makeovers with designers and sanitaryware manufacturers working very hard to come up with ways to make flushing of public urinals easier for the users as well as environmentally friendly. A new stream of thoughts in the field has even started to appeal to designers of urinals to try and make them as sustainable as possible to ensure that the supply of freshwater is used as efficiently as possible.

Artificial islands have become increasingly rampant in the recent years and are a true picture of luxury and art. They come injected with notable features, which manage to arrest attention. Countries like Holland, Japan, Dubai, and Hong Kong boast of such floating constructions, which are a picture of new housing, airports and even producing power. These man made islands are nothing less than a paradise and unfurl a dream like experience. Below is a list of some of the most beautiful and creative artificial islands, which the human inventiveness has put together.

The James Dyson Award supports students not only with monetary prizes but also by promoting and recognizing good quality entries.

IdN Video v18n6: Best of 2011

“Anything that can provoke people to question something is interesting to me. And the most memorable way of questioning things is to make fun of/with them — to expose the irony, the idiocy, the hypocrisy behind modern behaviour and values in a fun, light-hearted way.”
